ARKive -Images of Life on Earth

ARKive has thousands of wildlife videos, images and fact files can be used in a wide range of science, ICT and literacy projects. Use the ARKive multimedia materials to engage your class in key biology topics, such as variation and adaptation, habitats or life cycles, or use them as creative inspiration for art & design projects. All photos, video clips and authenticated fact files are free and easy to use in your classroom activities and presentations.

Each topic has it’s own classroom resources and handouts all available for free download.

Print Webpages without Ads or Clutter

Print What You Like, is an online tool that allows you to remove ads or other clutter from a webpage before printing. Simply enter the webpage you’re wanting to print in “Print What You Like”, and you’re presented with a set of tools that allows you to remove ads, or islolate parts of a webpage that you want to print. The press the print button and choose your printer and whether to print to paper or in PDF etc.

Convert Webpage into PDF

This is a useful tool if you want to keep a copy of a webpage as a simople document. Simply enter the URL of the webpage and it will convert this to a PDF document. Much cleaner than using the print page option.

Watch Youtube videos without distractions…

ViewPure

ViewPure a great tool for the classroom. It’s a website that eliminates everything else you see on a youtube video page.. from ads, comments to thumbnails of other videos.

You can enter the youtube URL from the ViewPure webpage or add the “Purify” button to your web browser toolbar.

Cyberbullying - Resources

Digizen.org has a great section regarding Cyberbullying. The video section has some great videos that can be used in class to generate dicsussion about cyberbullying and how students should deal with it, either as a victim or if they know of friends who are bullied, as well as lessons plans and teacher guides.
