The Learning Federation have just introduced a new initiative to
assist parents to help with their children’s maths homework. The
“Helping at home” website gives parents and their upper primary and
lower secondary school children the opportunity to use fun and
engaging digital curriculum content published by The Le@rning
Federation. The content is supported by educationally sound advice,
and is available free for all parents of students in Australia and New
Zealand. “Helping at home” is a pilot, so parents are asked to give
feedback.
(Thanks to Vicki Smith for passing this on to me)

A huge congratulations to Awahono School staff & students for their achievement in running such a fantastic ICT learning opportunity on the West Coast.
I felt very privelaged to be able to attend the conference and to see what the kids were up to. I saw a thoroughly professional management team - a really authentic learning experience for them! I also saw a whole lot of kids who were thoroughly engaged in their learning. The celebration event on Friday was a great showcase of what had taken place over the two days.
Well done Awahono! Looking forward to 2009!
And well done to all the supporters who helped to make it all happen.
